YuWyaan
Journeying with youth workers
Several organizations work with youth in India today. Just as young people grapple with dilemmas and confusions, youth workers (civil society professionals working with youth) grapple with a range of questions and dilemmas that emerge from practice. To support them navigate the complexities of working with youth, and become more professional in their youth work, support structures are necessary.
Drawing on Samvada’s rich experience of working with youth for over three decades, YuWyaan as a program does just this. Through courses and workshops, it works to equip youth workers with perspectives and skills to become more effective. YuWyaan works to foster greater understanding of youth work and enable collaborations between youth workers through research and consultations, advocating for working with youth through a youth rights framework.

Programme Offerings
Youth Work Course
A 30 day modular course, spread over a period of six months, it equips youth workers with a critical understanding of youth and youthhood along with skills of mobilizing, mentoring, sensitising and training youth, in ways that can be adapted contextually. The course enables youth workers to become more aware of themselves as youth workers, and evolve their own personal styles of engaging with youth in both compassionate and professional ways.
Since 2010, Samvada has trained more than 250 youth workers in Kannada and Hindi.

Collaborations and Services
We also develop customised curriculums and courses for different youth focused organizations, and organizations seeking to expand their work with youth.
