Our Impact
“Working with youth” has gained recognition in India over the years, but a common question we still encounter is:
“How does working with young people actually lead to social change?”
At Samvada, we believe in a transformative, two-step process where our interventions spark changes in youth, which then lead to changes by youth.
Changes in Youth
Through our programs, young people develop new values, aspirations, and life skills that foster personal growth and self-awareness. They begin to question societal norms, challenge stereotypes, and embrace principles of inclusion, sustainability, gender equity, and pluralism. These shifts empower them to make informed decisions, take ownership of their lives, and adopt behaviors that reflect their newly acquired perspectives.

Changes by Youth
The transformation in youth translates into action. Armed with a sense of purpose and equipped with tools for advocacy and leadership, they initiate change within their communities and beyond. Their decisions, actions, and initiatives actively challenge oppressive social systems and institutions, paving the way for a more equitable and sustainable society.
At Samvada, we don’t just see youth as beneficiaries; we see them as changemakers. By working alongside young people, we contribute to a ripple effect—personal transformations that grow into collective movements for social change. This is how we measure our impact: not just in numbers, but in the lives empowered and the systems challenged by the youth we work with.

What Young people are saying about our Programmes
"Participating in the camp on the farmer movement and agriculture was a transformative experience for me. It opened my eyes to the struggles farmers face, the history of farmer movements, and the kind of leadership needed to address these issues today.
I’ve become passionate about promoting environmentally sustainable practices like organic and natural farming. I believe these methods can help farmers achieve better yields and economic stability. I now share knowledge with local farmers about farming techniques, tools, fertilizers, and government schemes to support their efforts.
One of the biggest challenges I see is the growing disconnect between youth and agriculture. I actively engage in discussions with people in my community to understand why this is happening and find ways to inspire young people to reconnect with farming. My goal is to help bridge this gap and make agriculture a viable and respected livelihood for the next generation."

"The Samvada Baduku course opened my eyes to the critical importance of gender equality and its role in creating a just society. I gained a deep understanding of how gender intersects with caste, religion, and community dynamics. This learning, combined with personal counseling, helped me build self-confidence, sharpen my decision-making skills, and approach challenges with a renewed perspective. The experience has truly transformed my views and actions toward fostering equity in every aspect of life."
